Trees of Peace will have you glued to your screen .. a wonderfully crafted, intimate, and moving film.
After the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda, women survivors spearheaded the rehabilitation movement for their country. Rwanda now has more women appointed to government than any other nation in the world. A powerful, but little-known fact. This film explores the suffering and resilience of four women trapped during this dark time in human history.
BACK STORY
Ron and Michelle Ray are the main producers of the award-winning feature film Trees of Peace. Trees of Peace ("TOP") was written and directed by Alanna Brown. The movie was shot by cinematographer Michael Rizzi, edited by Gabriel Fleming and Kiran Pallegadda, and music composition was by famed music composer David Buckley. UTA Independent Film Group represented the film for sales.
Ron Ray discovered Alanna Brown and her incredible script in February 2019 through Instagram. Instantly, after reading the script and talking to Alanna, this became a passion project for the Ray duo. As the lead producers, Ron and Michelle Ray not only acquired the script and brought in the writer/director Alanna Brown, they raised full financing and led the production from beginning to end, as well as negotiated the sale of the film with Netflix, and handled the complete delivery of the film to Netflix. Ron brought in producers Nicole Avant (known for Netflix Film The Black Godfather), Brian Baniqued, Jeff Spiegel, Barry Levine, and Mike Bundlie to the project.
