Ron Ray (RR) founded RR Film Production in 2005 with a vision of creating original feature films for theatrical and digital distribution. Along the way, RR has produced and directed several commercials, music videos, and short films.
RR manages several million dollars of private and institutional client money in Wall Street. He owns his own money management firm and has been in business for over 25 years. He specializes in managing the money of Hollywood producers, athletes, physicians, lawyers, business owners, and ERISA pension plans.
RR also has over 35 years of acting experience on stage, television, and feature film in Bollywood and Hollywood. Most notably, RR acted with International Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan and Mexican superstar Barbara Mori in the international blockbuster Kites. Kites was theatrically released globally in 30 countries and on 500 screens in May 2010 with a production budget of $13 million. RR has also written, directed and produced several pilots, short films, music videos, and commercials, and is the lead producer on the award-winning Hollywood feature film Trees of Peace (TOP). RR discovered the writer/director Alanna Brown and her amazing script on Instagram, fully financed the film, took it through shooting and post-production, and personally negotiated the licensing deal with Netflix as a Netflix Original. TOP is releasing in 191 countries and in 32 languages on June 10, 2022 on the Netflix service. TOP won the Best Film Panavision Jury Award and ADL - Santa Barbara Humanitarian award at the prestigious 2021 Santa Barbara International Film Festival, where the movie premiered for the first time. Since then, TOP has won Best Film & Best Director at the Phoenix Film Festival, won Best Film and Best Screenplay at the prestigious 2021 African International Film Festival in Nigeria, and Best Ensemble Cast at the 2021 Rising Sun International Film Festival in Japan. TOP swept the 2021 American Black Film Festival Awards and won the Best Film Jury Award, John Singleton Award for Best First Feature, and Best Director. At the 2021 Switzerland International Film Festival, TOP won the Best Drama Jury Award. As the lead producer of this movie, RR brought in Executive Producer Nicole Avant to the project. RR also got Sony and Sigma to get involved with this project. The Producers Guild of America has recognized RR with the distinguished p.g.a watermark for this film.
RR has built a strong network over the last two decades in both the Hollywood and Bollywood film industries. Including A-list producers and directors, studios, streamers, and distribution companies, as well as leading Hollywood agencies UTA, CAA and WME.
RR is the perfect blend between filmmaker and businessman with tremendous financial acumen which makes him very effective and efficient as a producer/director.
On the personal side, he is happily married to Michelle Ray, who is his producing partner, and is a devoted family man.
